Visit to Ljubljana + dinner
A half day visit to Ljubljana will start after lunch. On a week-day
you'll be taken first to the colourful market, where you'll
admire the unbelievable variety of local farm products, handicrafts,
traditional medicine, fish, etc; On Sundays, a flea market takes
place in the old town along the Ljubljanica river. You&'ll
see the building of the world's second oldest philharmonic society
where Gustav Mahler started his career. The tour of the old
town includes the University building, the Tromostovje (Triple
bridge), a masterpiece of the leading Slovene architect Jozef
Plecnik, the St. Mary's baroque church, old town hall, the St.
Nicholas cathedral, the "Dragon bridge", the "Shoe-maker
bridge", etc. Before leaving the town, you'll be driven
to the castle on the hill behind the old part to enjoy the beautiful
view of the town and the basin of Ljubljana.
